The product that I believe is the best for weight loss is the ‘swap it, don’t drop it’ government weight loss program. There are several aspects of this product, or shall one say campaign, that I find specifically nifty. 1. The program is FREE! It has been proven by studies carried out by WHO that people with a lower socioeconomic status are more likely to be overweight or obese than those people in middle to higher socioeconomic status. This is evident due to many circumstances such as lower levels of education, younger aged parents and because healthy and nutritious fruit, vegetables and meat are expensive and unaffordable to these people. Having a free weight loss program means that people of all backgrounds and socioeconomic status’s can have access to ways of healthy living and weight loss, without the hefty joining fee. 2. This program is not just a fad, it’s not pop a pill and the weight ‘falls off’, nor is it straining on the body, like some diets that require people to eat tiny amounts of the same food, which, let’s face it, is doing your body just as much harm as it is being overweight. A good diet should incorporate all the triangles on the food chart. This campaign is a LIFESTYLE change. It gives people the flexibility to sometimes eat ‘naughty’ food; it has recipes and ideas such as ‘swap butter on toast for avocado on toast’. The site has a search engine that can allow people to search for their local park or camping ground. The idea is to get not only the overweight person outdoors and active, but the whole family; which brings me to my third point 3. Monkey sees, monkey do – that pretty much sums up children. If children see their parents watching T.V and eating a bag of chips, that’s what they will do. The thing about this diet (I believe that this is not a diet it’s more of a lifestyle change, so let’s now refer to it as a lifestyle change) is that the whole family is involved! Obesity and the many associated secondary illnesses that branch from it are becoming a pandemic. Children are predicted to die before their parents because of obesity! If parents can set a standard for their children now, their children will set the standard for their offspring. This lifestyle change is about balancing the food you eat as well as work and play. For me, this campaign, this complete lifestyle change is for the whole family, it’s simple, it’s totally free, it sets an example for children to follow and the site has many suggestions for people to use, such as getting out and getting active ideas, swapping ‘sometimes’ foods for ‘often’ foods and recipes! AND it’s all at the click of a mouse! Happy weight loss! by Jenaya Wyatt.
